The economic opening of Iran after the sanctions relief marks a new era of trade and gives the country an opportunity to reconnect to the global economy. To enhance bilateral business relations, a High Level Iranian delegation will visit the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. The seminar will focus on the economy, financing, regulations, business opportunities, and investments.

Iran has a diversified economy, a strong tradition of scientific education, a fast-growing consumer class, a highly urbanised population and an entrepreneurial tradition. To realise the growth opportunities, Iran will need to improve productivity and upgrade the industrial infrastructure to better attract investment and new technology. A financial system well connected to the international system is a key factor in the economic development. Today, due diligence for banks and companies operating in the Iranian market is very challenging. Interpreting rules and regulations in business transactions, making bank transactions and obtaining financing are difficult and complicated.

The Iranian government will need to accelerate the reforms. The know-how, skills, and expertise that Swedish companies have can be very useful in the development process.
